Overview

Cummins Conversion is a family-owned diesel shop in Blaine, MN. They build the parts you need to swap a Cummins engine into a Ford Super Duty truck: conversion kits, transmission adapters, motor mounts, brackets, and the parts that hold it all together. Every adapter plate and flywheel is CNC machined in their own shop.

They came to Snack Club Marketing because their old Shopify store did not match the quality of what they actually make. The site felt generic. The product photos were dated. And a customer trying to figure out which parts fit their truck had to dig through the catalog and guess. We rebuilt the whole website from scratch so the store finally looks and works the way the business deserves.

The Challenge

Three things were holding the site back, and all three were costing the business sales.

  • It looked generic. The old theme felt like every other Shopify store. Nothing on the page told a customer this was a family-owned shop machining parts by hand in Minnesota.
  • It was confusing for customers. If someone owned a 2006 Ford F-350 and wanted to put a Cummins in it, there was no clear page on the site that walked them through what they needed. They had to scroll the catalog and try to figure it out themselves.
  • It was hard to update. Product pages were locked into the theme code. Adding a new kit, updating specs, or showing what was included required a developer every time.

What We Built

A custom Shopify website. Designed and built from scratch to match the brand: precision machined, made in Minnesota, family run since 2014. The whole site now reads like the kind of shop you would actually trust to ship parts that fit your truck.

28 new pages so customers can find their way. The biggest improvement was a set of four "by truck year" pages: 1980 to 1997, 1999 to 2002, 2003 to 2007, and 2008 to 2010 Ford Cummins swap. A customer with a specific truck can land directly on the right page for their year and see exactly what fits. We also built:

  • A Find an Installer page for people who do not want to do the swap themselves
  • A Compare Conversion Kits page so people can pick the right one
  • A glossary of diesel swap terms in plain English
  • A Customer Builds wall where the team can show off real trucks running their parts
  • A swap FAQ and a guides hub
  • About, Contact, Shipping, Returns, and Warranty pages

Product pages the team can update themselves. We added a simple system where the shop can fill in Specs, Fitment, and Kit Contents for each product right from the Shopify admin, no developer needed. The product page automatically shows whatever the team types in. Adding a new kit now takes minutes instead of hours.

Fresh product photography. 45 of the 46 active products got new, clean, white-background photos that look consistent across the catalog, so the whole store finally feels like one brand instead of a mix of old photos shot in different lighting.

SEO foundation so people can find them on Google. All the behind-the-scenes pieces Google looks for, including page titles, descriptions, sitemap, and a story-style blog post titled "Fummins Swap Kit Explained" that answers questions real customers ask.

Before vs After

Before

  • Generic Shopify theme that did not match the brand
  • No way for customers to land on a page built for their specific truck year
  • Product details locked into the theme code
  • Old, mismatched product photos
  • Almost no search visibility

After

  • Custom Shopify website that reflects a family-owned, made-in-MN shop
  • 28 new pages including 4 truck-year landing pages, find-an-installer, compare kits, glossary, FAQ, and customer builds
  • Specs, Fitment, and Kit Contents tables the team updates from the Shopify admin in minutes
  • Fresh, consistent white-background product photography on 45 of 46 products
  • SEO foundation built in so the site keeps showing up for more searches over time

The Impact

Cummins Conversion now has a website that finally matches the quality of what the shop makes. A customer with a specific truck can land on the right page in one click. The team can add new kits without calling a developer. And the SEO foundation is set up so the store keeps showing up for more searches over time.
